I was being passive aggressive, too. I was exhausted and upset.

I don't understand why we can't have that for as long as we can . . . at least, that was what I was trying to say earlier.

I don't think it's fair for Jack.

His actual parents were never really in his life at all.

That doesn't make it fair.

I can't go with it and tell myself it's okay because I'm not as bad as his actual parents.

I just— it's better for him to have it at all, even if it's just for a little bit, than to not have it, especially since he's never really had that influence in his life before. I guess that's what I was trying to say earlier.

And I really, really believe we can all do a world of good for each other in however much time we have. But that's just me.
