SO BASICALLY AFTER THE BEHEADING INCIDENT David resolved not to talk to Leto again because the guy hates him, is transparent about hating him and he really doesn't think the cards were that big of a push towards Leto lashing out at him. Leto has already said he has lots of inner voices screaming at him to destroy David. So really, why the fuck would he go interact with him again? There is zero benefit in it for David; there is NEGATIVE benefit in it.
Camp then proceeded to handcuff them together and David acted like a robo-deer in headlights whilst Leto kept... doing the same sort of stuff he always does in conversations. And David could not get out of that talk fast enough once the cuffs came off. Doesn't want to talk to him, doesn't want to deal with him, would rather ignore him for the rest of his stay in camp. He is afraid of him in terms of knowing what he's capable of, but honestly he just. Does not see any value in continuing to interact with someone who wants to kill him (even if he says he won't).

Any changes in Peter's opinion of David?
