Asato isn't at all used to adults willingly taking responsibility for him, so Brandt being like WHERE DO YOU LIVE!!1?? and trying to be an adult at him was confusing and upsetting up until Brandt mentioned being hurt. AND THEN IT WAS UPSETTING AGAIN because no one had turned him down before, so he's not sure of what happened there.

He doesn't dislike Brandt, he just has no idea of how to behave around him, or what to do and doesn't understand why Brandt seems to care.

Brandt has no idea what to do with kids. He's never had contact with them and he's certainly never had to deal with them. So having this kid around means whether he likes it or not, he has to look out for him. And he gets why anyone would be cranky with that, but Brandt is a "safer than sorry" kind of person. Taking responsibility for Asato is a big thing, because Brandt never wanted to be responsible for anyone's life ever again but he still did it because it was the right thing to do.

KIRK BRO, YOU'RE HITTING ON MY CAS-EQUIVALENT. SORT OF.

Peter still sees Kirk as a KINDRED SPIRIT, with the difference being that Peter is a family-oriented guy and Kirk very much isn't, which makes sense to Peter and he can see how he'd have ended up not wanting a family ever if his circumstances had been different. He'd sort of like to sit down with Kirk and give him an update on his situation, but he's actually pretty zen with things right now so it'd just be like LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT ALL THESE PROBLEMS I HAVE MOSTLY WORKED OUT.

Leto is slowly recovering from the bout of violence that he suffered from. It came very soon for him and he's never actually gotten acclimatized to the idea of him being violent, despite how strong he is. So he's more shaken up than he's letting anyone notice, preferring to push it back and not fully address it. Beyond that, he's ... okay? He's vaguely content in a weird distant way, like he's not entirely sure what is happening to him and why.

Brandt's mission for years was to make sure Ethan Hunt and his wife were protected. One time he fucked up, Ethan's wife died and Ethan was sent to prison for killing the perpetrators. This RUINED Brandt as a field agent, so he resigned and became a field analyst again. Then after three years, he met Ethan again.

HIS HUGE FEAR is letting people down, but mostly letting Ethan down. Even though [SPOILERS] happened, he hasn't had time to get over it. Brandt doesn't have many important people. One was the Secretary (who died), Julia Hunt (who died) and Ethan. So Brandt would do anything to keep Ethan safe.

And every time I make playlists for my characters my laptop dies, so I've stopped doing that. GOD GIVE ME A SEC.

Peter is tricky because his life is hard, but for the longest time I associated him with Home by Michael Bublé.

Spike has his own song because Buffy.

The books are only necessary if you want to gleam headcanon or stuff. Mostly it's more important to Leto play so I can keep track of his extra personalities. But for Paul, it's absolutely unnecessary.
