I get the reasoning.

If the universe was... rearranged. Then it must have started from the moment I stepped down from the machine to make the people who were present there still be there. Except me.

So . . . that theory we had about my memories being altered . . .

If I'm right about this it's not just memories, everything was rewritten. Time is not like we perceive it, it's not linear, so if I was... deleted, I was not deleted just from one point in time and it wasn't a gradual change. It was sudden. I simply stopped existing from every single point in time since being pulled out from that lake, after that everything else would have fallen into place by itself.

[sits down on alt!Linc's bed, running both hands through his hair]
